Delicious Chocolate Mousse with Choco Dirt

Delicious and easy chocolate mousse with choco dirt! This dessert is always a great idea – it can be a perfect energetic breakfast or creamy treat after lunch. Here is the recipe:

Easy Chocolate Mousse with Choco Dirt
Ingredients:

For the chocolate mousse:

  • 300 grams dark chocolate, chopped
  • 50 grams unsalted butter
  • 3 eggs separated
  • 300 ml heavy cream
  • 55 grams caster sugar

For the chocolate dirt:

  • 125 grams almond meal
  • 125 grams caster sugar
  • 50 grams cocoa powder
  • 75 grams plain flour
  • 60 grams unsalted butter

To garnish:

  • 10 to 12 mint leaves (optional)

 

Instructions:

To make the chocolate mousse:

  • In a small saucepan, mix butter and dark chocolate. Stir over low heat just until smooth. Remove and gradually stir in egg yolks.
  • Transfer mix to large bowl. With an electric mixer beat the heavy cream. In a separate bowl, whisk egg white until soft peak. Add sugar and beat until it dissolves.
  • Next, fold in the cream mixture into the chocolate mix then fold in egg white blend in 2 batches. Mix with a spoon until well incorporated.
  • Split between 10-12 servings cups/glasses. Cover with cling film and place in the fridge for about 2 hours or until set.

To make the choco dirt:

  • Preheat oven to 150°C/300°F/Gas Mark 2. Melt the butter.
  • Then, line baking tray with grease paper. In a bowl, combine all dry ingredients and then, add the melted butter into the dry ingredients.
  • Combine until it represents “soil” like appearance. Place in the heat and bake for about 10 to 13 minutes.
  • Cool for 10 minutes, then divide into the mousse cups/glasses. Decorate each cup/glass with a mint leaf. Serve.
