These cute, tiny orangettes are so simple and easy to prepare and very delicious! Zesty and chocolatey, an ideal dessert for serving and satisfying your sweet tooth. Here is the recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 large orange
- 1/2 cup water
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup milk chocolate, chopped
Instructions:
- Use a peeler to cut 3-in. long, 3/4-in. wide strips orange peel from 1 large orange. In a small saucepan pour water and bring to a boil. Simmer the peels for 10 minutes.
- Next, drain the peels and wash them with cold water. After that, boil them in fresh water for an extra 10 minutes; then repeat the procedure one more time.
- In a medium saucepan, bring the water and sugar to a boil and stir occasionally to dissolve the sugar and then to reduce the mixture in volume just a little bit, around 5 minutes.
- Put the orange peels, continue simmering for 15 minutes more.
- Remove the candied orange peel to a wire rack and let it sit for 40 minutes without moving it.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Add the chocolate in a double boiler over simmering water and melt it until smooth.
- Dip the 2/3 of each orange strip in the melted chocolate, leaving around 1/3 of the orange peel visible, and arrange it on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Let the chocolate set before serving.
Enjoy!
